Senior Spotlight: Chance Johnson

Dale K. and Cameron H.

Chance Johnson, a senior on the boys’ varsity hockey team, has been playing hockey for 13 years. He got into hockey when his dad gave him a stick and some skates, and then he started skating. We asked him what his favorite memory over his hockey career has been, and he said, “Coming back from elbow surgery and making it to the Saturday [state qualifying] game of WDA.” According to Chance, his favorite part of hockey is “hitting people.” We also asked him if had any pre-game rituals, and he said that he “eats two oranges and tapes [his] stick.” Chance also stated that hockey taught him that “You have to be tough and nothing comes easy.” With winter break coming up in the next couple of days, he hopes to go into the Dickinson Holiday Tournament with some momentum.
