Alexis Gunderson was chosen for the Coyote Shout Out this week because of how publically involved she is in school. Between helping out in all the school plays, hanging college fliers in the commons, and keeping track of the statistics for the basketball games, Alexis shows how passionate she is about school.

Gunderson was born and raised in Williston. From elementary years to high school, she has always been active in sports -until her junior year when her perspective changed. She decided to get involved in school plays and was granted a semi-lead. She quickly fell in love with theater and choir,  realizing she can use her artistic abilities in other aspects of the school. Alexis states, “I like seeing both sides of the spectrum. People don’t understand that they can put their energy into a variety of things.

Gunderson is a TA (Teacher Aid) and was asked to hang up some college statistics listing the college along with  ACT scores needed to get accepted into certain colleges. This also gave her more of an understanding of how colleges work. Alexis eventually got more in-depth and added her creative touch by putting the logo of the colleges on the handouts. She is planning on staying in Williston after high school, mostly because of family and the free two years of tuition. “ I would regret not taking advantage of this opportunity.

If she’s not playing sports then Aleix is contributing to them by keeping the score. It all started when she was filling in for a friend and she ended up enjoying the job of keeping the statistics for the game. Considering the fact that she has been involved in sports most her life, Gunderson always has fun and enjoys her time helping around the court.

Alexis has done many things over the years that are beneficial to WHS and our students. She is by far the definition of school spirit. That’s why Alexis Gunderson is the Coyote Shout Out for this week.
