At the regional Science Olympiad competition, six students from Williston out-competed seven other teams to earn the right to go to the state competition in April.

Thanks to the students’ efforts, the team of Wes Thomas, Grisha Pradhan, Marcela Maldonado, Sergio Rengel, McKensie Brown, and Michaela Haker placed 4th out of 11 teams at this competition.

We tied most first place events with four.

1st Place finishers:

Wes Thomas & Grisha Pradhan – Experimental Design

Marcela Maldonado & Sergio Rengel – Mousetrap Vehicle

Grisha Pradham & McKensie Brown – Disease Detectives

Grisha Pradham & Wes Thomas – Anatomy & Physiology

3rd Place finishers:

Marcela Maldonado & Sergio Rengel – Dynamic Planet (They accomplished this with 10 minutes notice that they would do the event.)
