Are teenagers losing sleep because of Phones?

Teenagers are losing more sleep due to the cause of the Internet/Social Media on their phones. 10.3 years old is the average age of someone getting their first phone and that could be the reason that teenagers are losing more sleep because they get their first phone at the age of 10 or 11. Teenagers are losing their sleep from being attached to their phone everyday. The average amount of sleep a teenager is getting on a school night is 7 and 1/2 hours of sleep, and teenagers roughly need 8-10 hours of sleep every night. Scientists studied that schools need to start later in the day because teenagers are not getting enough sleep each night.

How much are Teenagers texting everyday?

23% of teenagers use social networks on their phone and the average number of texts sent and received per day by gender is: 30 texts for Male, and 80 texts for Females. Females spend more time on their phone more than Males do everyday. 23% of females are on social media more than Males by 2%. 54% of teenagers text daily, and 72% of teenagers are text messages. 33% of teenagers send more than 100+ texts a day, and 11% of teenagers send more than 200+ texts a day.

Ways to get more sleep

Teenagers need to be asleep by 9-10 pm every night. Teenagers need to reduce their phone time during the day and night if they want to have the right amount of sleep.  These teenagers need to stop drinking and eating so much caffeine if they want to get the right amount of sleep
