Recently we interviewed a new teacher at the school, Gresh Jones. He is the new PE teacher and wrestling coach.

Q: How do you feel about being the new PE teacher?

A: It’s really fun. I’m enjoying it. I get a lot of the freshman and sophomores and a couple juniors and the occasional senior who wants to take intro to PE, but I get to hang out with Mock and Winslow all the time so I’m loving it.

Q: Are you excited to be the new wrestling coach?

A: Yes, practice started yesterday. Wrestling is what I love to do, so if I can give that back to the kids here that’s exactly what I want to do.

Q: I heard that in high school you were a very successful wrestler. Could you tell us more about that?

A: I wrestled actually at Sidney high school which is like an hour away for coach Melbs and I was a 4 time Montana State champ over there. My little brother was a 2 timer and my youngest little brother was a 2 timer as well. So we got a wrestling family and it’s what we like to do.

Q: How do you predict that the rest of the season will go?

A: We’ve got good numbers this year. We got 25 out yesterday. I put our goal as top 3 and we should always strive to be state champs but realistically last year we were 8th as state finish and we lost 3 of our placers but we gained a bunch of freshmen. So I want to be top 3 and the kids want to be top 3.

Q: What’s your favorite ice cream?

A: Oreo for sure.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I like to go out to the cabin. We have our cabin at Blacktail Dam right over here and I like wakeboarding, knee boarding, and water sports a lot.

Q: What’s an interesting fact or thing about you or do you have any hidden talents?

A: I can do a backflip right now standing and my wife was all conference track runner here and now she is the residence hall director at the college.
