In the crazy year of 2017 ,we had some of the oddest trends ranging from men rompers to squiggle brows and faux freckles.

Here are some of the weirdest, most popular trends of 2017: 100 layers challenge, Kylie Jenner challenge, unicorn everything, contouring and highlighting facial makeup, track suits/rompers, 80-90’s style fashion, Crocs and Birkenstocks, then finally rainbows and glitter in the beauty industry. Some of these trends have already followed us into 2018. The most recent trend that has gotten the biggest recognition is the “tide pod challenge.” Other challenges that are known are the cinnamon challenge, salt and ice challenge, and so many more.

Some of the trends that I believe will stay with us throughout 2018 are contouring/ highlighting makeup and the excessive beauty products we use.

I also think  Crocs and Birkenstocks will stay on the list because these shoes have been popular for quite a while; especially women love wearing them because the footwear is known to be comfortable.

Slides footwear is also a popular thing worn now by men and women; those have also made it into 2018.

Expressions like “gucci,” “cash me outside how ‘bout dat,” “bet,” “yeet,” “boi,” etc. were used excessively for different phrases and memes. Next, binge watching our favorite TV shows like Stranger Things, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, etc. is still a big thing and possibly will stick around with us for many more years.
