Dear “Quietest Girl in School,”

Honesty, I can relate to you on this topic. I struggle to make friends too- it’s really hard to put yourself out there.  I didn’t always go to this school and when I started classes here I was really quiet and literally knew no one. Then I heard of a club that I was really interested in; I was nervous about going to the first meeting but I did. It was all upperclassman and they were all popular people so I almost left the meeting before it started. But I stayed and everyone was really welcoming; if you can find people with the same interests- chances are they are going to welcome you with open arms.

If you are looking for other ways to learn confidence in public speaking or work on being more outgoing and confident check out WHS’s amazing speech team or the Toastmasters club in Williston. Take a look at the Howl’s section “Coyote Clubs” and see if any spike an interest and just try one meeting or join our journalism team, it’s an awesome class with really welcoming members!

Hope this can help you! Thanks for Asking Amy!
