The New Aviation Teacher, Mr. Sando

Howl reporter, Hannah Layton, asked the new aviation teacher, Mr. Sando, questions about his experience and his time as a teacher in Williston.
Q: Are you from Williston? If not, where are you from?
A: I am not originally from Williston, I have lived here the past 5 years. I am originally from Seattle, Washington.
Q: What subject do you teach?
A: I teach Aviation.
Q: How has your time been in the classroom?
A: Exciting! Learning about the kids, not just teaching my subject, but getting to know the students and what inspires students to learn is amazing.
Q: What was your favorite subject in school?
A: History.
Q: What made you want to teach?
A: I am a pilot, and I have been in the Aviation industry for the last 5 years. I would have loved to have had this class when I was in school.
Q: When did you start teaching?
A: I’ve been substituting for the past couple of years in the district, but this is my first year having my own classroom.
Q: Do you have any hidden talents?
A: I have double jointed thumbs, and my talent is very hidden. I fly airplanes but I play computer games like most kids do. I play fortnite and other video games.
Q: What’s your favorite trend that’s coming back?
A: Well my least favorite trend that is coming back is onesies.
