Girls Cross Country Run Away With a State Championship!
October 26, 2020
This weekend, our very own girls cross country team won the State Championship meet for the first time in WHS history. The girls have put in a lot of time, and a lot of miles, trying to better themselves in order to compete with tough teams like Watford City and Bismarck High.
With a young team, the girls were able to close off the season with an exciting finish with only three points ahead of Bismarck High.
With help from All-State Runners Eleni Lovegren, Sierra Watterud, and Dru Zander being in the top ten, the girls were able to secure the title for the first time in our school’s history
The girls now get to relax and celebrate their state title in style, arriving home with an exciting firework show and ride to the high school in a firetruck. Congratulations girls! Way to show your Coyote Pride!
