I wanted to do this story on why there wasn’t a prom king and queen this year. I kind of thought it was weird how we did not have a king or queen this year. I kind of think some people are thinking it’s going out of style. But I think it’s something that we shouldn’t stop doing. WHS has been doing it since my dad and mom were in high school and I think it’s something we need to keep doing. It is something that could just make someone’s day, being called up to stage to get crowned king and queen. I have looked through some yearbooks and some kids with special needs have been awarded prom queen and king. I think it’s very thoughtful that people are thinking about them. I have a sister who is very mentally handicapped and wasn’t supposed to live past one year old.

If kids with special needs got called to get crowned prom king or queen,  I bet they would be so happy and it would make their days and last year of high school an amazing year. Kids with special needs are not always treated how they probably should be. It’s just something that I think should not be stopped. We should keep doing it cause being called up to stage can make someone’s life and day a whole lot better. These are my thoughts about prom queen and king.
