Semester one at WHS has been of great change and success. Here is a recap on all the great things!

August-September

  • WHS welcomed students back to a new year with the red carpet roll out and the freshman committed to graduate.
  • Many teachers move classes period to period.
  • New rules were implemented (badges, no cell phones, and closed campus)
  • WHS had their annual College Fair at WSC with 388 juniors and seniors attending. The College Fair had a wide range of after High School activities including trade schools, career training programs from ND, SD, and MI. Canada had a couple University booths talking to students about post-secondary options. There was also a wide range of Colleges and Military recruiters.

October

  • Coyotes had a great Homecoming week with a win 40-6 against Watford. 
  • Close Up did a Fall Formal to end the amazing Homecoming week. 
  • The girls Cross Country team had a three-peat win, and the boys had a back to back win!
  • Volleyball won their Senior night 3-1 play in Dickinson and their Playing Night 3-0 against Watford. 
  • Coyotes made a difference by packing food for the Feed My Starving Children Non-profit. The morning session packed 26,000 meals!
  • FFA attended their 95th National  FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, IN.

November 

  • Williston High School had their 3rd annual Career Expo and is so thankful that we had over 60 careers/companies that the students could explore and learn about. 
  • WHS brought back FBLA (Future Business Leaders Of America) who had their first meeting November 9th. 
  • Cross Country went to Sioux Fall for a Regional meet. The Coyotes placed 7th and Ethan Moe finished first out of the Williston team. 
  • WHS went to Minot State University for the Northwest Music Festival with 14 band and 5 choir kids went to represent Williston High. 
  • Nick Wintion told an amazing story about his father who organized the kinder transport to bring children out of Czechoslovakia  to England at the start of World War two. 
  • The Girls Swim and Dive Team had a great season and ended it with STATE, ranking 9th out of 18 teams. 
  • Volleyball went to WDA making an appearance at WDA since 2018. 
  • The Cheer Team headed to STATE and received 3rd place in Cheer Dance routine, 3rd in Stunt Off, and 2nd in Game Day Division. Shout out to Sadie Olson for winning Top Sideline Cheerleader making Williston now hold State Champion. 
  • On November 18, 2022 WHS had their Blood Drive with 37 out of 42 people donating. 
  • WHS Drama performed Bedtime stories as told by our dad who messes them up. 
  • Band, Choir, and Orchestra had concerts. 
  • The Rainbow Girls held a Winter Formal at Missouri Ridge
  • Hockey, Basketball, and Wrestling have started their seasons.

December 

  • Basketball, Cheer, and Wrestling had their home opener. 
  • Williston Wonderettes went to their first competition in Mandan Varsity placing 1st in Jazz, Hip Hop, and 3rd in Pom. JV took 1st in Hip Hop, 3rd in Jazz, 2nd in Pom. 
  • Finals for Freshman through Seniors on December 21-22.
