Hey Coyotes, here is the run down for semester two. Starting the semester off strong the Williston Wonderettes took home first at State and ninth at Nationals. The senior class held a pancake breakfast to raise money for their close up trip in Washington DC. FFA made a big trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. Eight members and two supervisors took the Amtrak to Chicago then their way to Indianapolis. Some more amazing accomplishments, the WHS cheer team made their way to Dallas to compete at Nationals. The WHS Choir, the official Governor’s Choir for the 23-24 school year, sang at the State of the State Address in Dickinson. Mrs.Stewart and her students held their annual blood drive. WHS made a production of PUFFS. Coyote Wrestling took third place at the dual State. FFA and EMT came together to participate in a Mock Accident. The Drama Club went to New York City. As the music department was getting ready for their concert they had a special guest come in to help. Black History month celebration at WHS with Ms. Peterson and Mr. Jackson took the time to put this together for our WHS students. On March 6th we had a grand speaker, Rocky Herron. He took the time to discuss the realities of Fentanyl. Rocky is a retired DEA Agent. Mrs. Jeannotte held her annual job fair. Grades 9-12 were welcome to look around and chat with over 50 employers. At The End of March Mrs.Otis accompanied 16 incredible Future Business Leaders of America to Bismarck. During the convention, each member competed in objective tests or presentations. They also had two students run for State Office.
Starting off April seniors had their meeting and headed over to get their cap and gowns. There was a big announcement at WHS with Mrs.Lasron being announced as becoming the new Williston High School principal. Another amazing play held by Drama Club with the presentation of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The junior class made a magical night to remember by holding prom. The prom theme was Tangled In Our Memories. WHS held an ACCEPTANCE AND INCLUSION Celebration Week where they had dress up days. National Honors Society Anthony Alexandrou was elected the North Dakota Association of Honor Society President for 2024-25 school year. Mr.Sando led 28 students on an unforgettable journey to Grand Forks for two action-packed aviation Exploration days. There was an auction and barbeque held for coach Cam as he got into a tragic accident. Yearbooks were handed out during lunches, revealing the theme of In Our Coyote Era! As we are closing the chapter for the class of 2024 we are walking elementary schools, celebrating military and career bound students Friday May 17th. Soon after is graduation May 26, 2024.
