On March 15th, 62 seniors from WHS went to Washington D.C. for a week. During the week, they were given an in-depth experience and shown how our government works. The students attended many places including the National Mall, Arlington Cemetery, Ford’s Theater, the Pentagon Memorial and the Korean and Vietnam war memorials. Students were dropped off at the Smithsonian and were able to attend a museum of their choice. Museums they could choose from consisted of the Air and Space Museum, Natural History Museum and the National Archives. They also spent an entire day on Capitol Hill and were able to meet with North Dakota’s representatives and spend time in the House and Senate chambers. That night, the students attended Ford’s Theater and saw the play “Into the Woods” to finish off their day spent on Capitol Hill.
