Kobe Bryant Dead in Helicopter Crash

Kobe Bryant died at age 41 in a helicopter crash. The helicopter crashed on January 26th, 2019 at approximately 9:40 am. The helicopter was flying over Calabasas, California during the crash, and onboard were 8 other passengers, including Kobe’s daughter Gianna. The cause of the crash was that the helicopter was too low level for flight following, and when they tried to rise the helicopter dived and crashed into a hillside. It didn’t help that it was foggy outside and helicopters were advised to stay grounded until they gained more visibility. The same afternoon, TMZ reported the crash which law enforcement officials in Los Angeles criticized TMZ for being the first to report before they were able to notify Kobe Bryant’s family of the tragedy. A Los Angeles County Sheriff in a press conference knocked TMZ while explaining why the law enforcement officials didn’t release the identities of the nine people killed earlier that day.
