The Williston Drill Team is going to Minot for the State competition this weekend. Their Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will be competing in three categories.
The Williston Junior Varsity Drill Team has had a very successful season. Throughout the 2023-2024 season, JV has brought home 10 1st place trophies, 1 2nd place trophies, and 1 3rd place trophies. These girls have worked hard all season and they’re all very excited to compete against the state.
After talking to two Junior Varsity girls it sounds like the girls are ready to go all out this weekend and try to come home with a win. Madison Buzis, a second-year veteran states that she feels confident about this upcoming competition, Madi believes if the team can talk and keep their energy high they will be successful. A word to the coaches from Madi, “Thank you for pushing us to our fullest letting us vent, and being more to us than just coaches.” Madi would also like to thank her teammates for pushing their selves and trying to maintain themselves on the hard days.
After speaking with Madi, I asked another second-year veteran Kaylee Cloud how she was feeling about their upcoming weekend. Kaylee states that she feels good because the team has worked very hard. She claims if the team goes in strong that they could succeed. Kaylee would like to thank her coaches for always being there and believing in her, and also for always pushing her to be better. A word to the team from Kaylee, “Thanks to this season I have learned a lot, and we just have to keep pushing and trying our best. We are an amazing team who can pull this off.”
